Q: How would you describe your design style?
A: I'd describe my design style as playful, contemporary, and intuitive. The playfulness comes from my general attitude toward life. I love using bright colors that give off a joyous and relaxing energy. To express this visually, I use a neat, streamlined, and straightforward graphic style influenced by modern art. Finally, intuition is the bridge that connects my emotions to my hands and turns them into art.
Q: How have your personal experiences or personality influenced your design ideas?
A: My design work is a blend of constant observation and disciplined execution.
Every day, I feel, experience, and collect ideas. This is a process of gathering inspiration as it arises. I see this as a growing pool of raw, original concepts. This stage is casual, unpredictable, and deeply personal, allowing for endless creative possibilities.
However, when it comes to an actual project, my more logical side takes over. I switch to being organized and intentional to build something solid out of that ambiguity. I'll select some concepts from my ''idea pool'' and quickly test them against the project's context. I've also created workflows for everything from concept generation to communication and refining details.
In a word, this balance of intuition and rationality is what helps me bring my ideas to life.
Q: How do you incorporate your personal style into home design projects?
A: I believe a home should be a space that supports a person's energy and rhythm. A rug, for instance, isn't just decor; it can provide a sense of companionship that cheers you up, or an invitation to engage with the subconscious and recharge in a safe, private environment. To evoke this feeling, I use figures, shapes, and colors to create graphics that not only achieve a harmonious visual balance but also possess soft, calming characteristics.
Q: What drew you to collaborate with our rug brand?
A: When I first saw Lany Space, it stood out to me because you balance a strong aesthetic style with a clear commitment to product quality and a deep dedication to the customers' emotional and functional needs. I’ve always been fascinated by how expressive graphic art translates into tactile, functional objects. I see this as a wonderful opportunity to collaborate on a beautiful collection that brings joy and lasting memories into people's homes.
Q: What was your first impression of Lany Space rugs and our style?
A: My first impression was of the welcoming, lively spirit and bold artistry of Lany Space rugs. There is a modern youthfulness that blends seamlessly with whimsical imagination within the brand. The style is unique and expressive, yet perfectly suited for the home. I instantly felt a natural synergy between your aesthetic and my own artistic focus.
Q: Could you share the story or concept behind the collection you designed for us?
A: I wanted this collection to evoke both a calming sense of order and a feeling of relaxing joy. I've translated elements from everyday life into a modern visual style.
The Block design was inspired by the cityscape. It reflects the exterior surfaces of buildings from my memory, reimagined through a graphic, impressionist lens.
The Line design captures the feeling of the seasons within the city. The lines suggest layers of land, architecture, and urban movement. I used specific color palettes to represent natural elements like the earth, the sky, and the warmth of autumn.
Finally, the Bird design expresses a spirit of freedom and love. The simple, playful bird is a symbol of naive joy and a heartfelt wish to share more love with the world.
Q: Among the pieces in these collections, which design is your favorite, and why?
A: I'd have to say the pink block designs are my favorite. They're inspired by the architecture I pass by every day. I love the rhythmic and overlapping geometric patterns of the city, which give the work a sense of structural order. I then use surreal colors to project my own feelings onto the scene, making it feel softer and more nostalgic. It's a balance of both the rational and the emotional.

A: Rhythmic, balanced, playful.
